Project overview

PolarEye is engineered for -40°C operation with heated battery bays, de-icing propellers, and a ruggedized airframe. It carries a hyperspectral imager for ice composition analysis and a synthetic aperture radar module for sub-surface feature detection.

Who we're looking for

  • Materials scientist with experience in cold-weather composites
  • Climate researcher or glaciologist for mission design
  • Arctic logistics partner for field deployment

Project goals

  • Cold-weather certification at -40°C
  • Field deployment in Svalbard or Greenland
  • Publication of ice shelf monitoring dataset
